About me

José Antonio Ochoa was born in Mexico City in 1990. From a very young age, he developed an interest in art, particularly painting. In 2009, he received a scholarship that allowed him to pursue studies in Art. In 2010, he traveled to Chicago (USA) to participate in various courses at the American Academy of Art. In 2011, he moved to Seville to begin his Fine Arts degree, receiving a solid academic foundation in the Andalusian capital. In 2013, he was awarded a SICUE Scholarship and transferred to Valencia to continue his studies at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts two years later. Although he has focused primarily on painting, in recent years he has ventured into sculpture, working with various materials such as stone, metal, resin, and wood.

He has exhibited his work in Mexico City, Querétaro, Chicago, Seville, Valencia, Zaragoza, Logroño, and Madrid. He has also been selected for several prestigious painting competitions, including the PB Portrait Award, the BMW Painting Prize, the Mainel Foundation Painting Prize, and the IberCaja Young Painting Prize, among others.

Currently, his works are part of collections in Mexico, Canada, Israel, Nigeria, the USA, and Spain.
